Alben Edward Sasser

Alben Edward Sasser, 86, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at IU Health Hospice House, Bloomington.

Born December 26, 1938, in Gibbs County, Kentucky, he was the son of Johnny Cecil and Eva Jane (Colyer) Sasser.

He married Jonna Leigh Myers on June 23, 1962 and she survives.

Alben attended Needmore High School and Owned and Operated Sasser Construction for over 56 years. 

He was a member of the Donica Church of God and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Jonna; children, Jon Scott (Robin) Sasser and Adam Edward (Dana) Sasser; Grandchildren, Brooke (Brandon) Ritz, Emily (Cody) Meadows, Sadie Sasser, Zachary Sasser, Isaiah Sasser, and Chase Cummings; Great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Knox Ritz, Adeline, Madison, and Wade Meadows; Nieces, Melissa (Don) Hassler, and Angel and Lily Hawkins; and Nephew, John Wolff. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; Sister, Betty Goodman and Alma (Kenny) Arthur; and Niece, Tracy Goodman-Wolff.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Donica Church of God, 1969 Donica Church Road, Bedford, Indiana 47421, with Pastor Jason Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Monday at the Donica Church of God.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hilltop Cemetery.
