Shirley L. (Schmidt) Johnson, 82, of Bedford, formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Red Crest Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born May 21, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of David and Josephine (Grabner) Schmidt.

Shirley graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She married Bertil Johnson on November 30, 1963, and he survives.

Shirley retired from Cooper Industries in South Milwaukee, where she worked in the billing department for many years.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Bertil; children, Christopher Johnson and Jeffrey Johnson; granddaughter, Jessica Manues; great-granddaughter, Hailey Manues; and sister, Sharon Malenda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Larry Schmidt, and sister, Virginia Schmidt.

Cremation was chosen, and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date at the Limestone Chapel of George Funeral Care at 527 15th Street in Bedford.
