Listen to Obituary

Terrence “Terry” C. Feng, 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Bloomington, Indiana, on September 21, 2026. Born on October 10, 1948, in Guangzhou, China, Terry spent most of his life in the Chicago area, where he grew up and built his career and family.

Terry was the son of the late King T. Feng and Chan K. Feng. He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Feng; his children, Brian Feng and his wife, Elizabeth M. Feng (and their sons, Miles and Garrett Feng), and Chris Feng. He is also survived by his siblings, Helen C. Feng; Vivian Cerbin and her husband, Jon Cerbin (and their children, Ivan Cerbin and Alexandra Daley); and Wanda Raymond and her husband, Ralph Raymond.

Terry attended the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, he began his professional career with Johnson & Johnson before joining General Electric, where he spent the majority of his career as a Quality Engineering Manager. He took pride in his work and brought his engineering mindset and attention to detail to everything he did.

Outside of work, Terry had a wide range of interests. He was an avid automobile enthusiast, with a particular appreciation for German automobiles. His favorite was the Porsche 911. He enjoyed playing racquetball and later took up pickleball. Through these activities, he developed close friendships with the group of friends he affectionately called the “Old Geezers Club.” Terry especially enjoyed spending time with them over dinners and good food. He had a lifelong appreciation for technology and gadgets and especially enjoyed high-quality audio equipment, including his JBL speakers. Terry’s artistic side was expressed through his still-life and landscape photography.

Terry did not need fancy frills to enjoy life. He found the simple pleasures in life to be the most important and meaningful. He enjoyed good food and coffee. He particularly loved going out to restaurants, especially buffets and authentic Chinese restaurants. A lifelong Chicago sports fan, he followed the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bulls.

Above all, Terry will be remembered by his family for the life he shared with them, the Dad-pun humor, his curiosity about the world around him, and the many interests and passions that made him uniquely himself. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Cremation was chosen per Terry's wishes.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Derek and Abby George with the Limestone Chapel of George Funeral Care at 527 15th Street in Bedford.
